Privacy Policy

Last updated July 18, 2026

Your privacy matters to us. This page explains, in plain language, what information we collect at Lobbyster, why we collect it, and the control you have over it, in line with Egypt's Personal Data Protection Law No. 151 of 2020.

02

Who we are

Lobbyster is a coworking space and creative network based in Alexandria, Egypt. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you visit our website, join our waitlist, use the Lobbyster app, or spend time at our space.

In this policy, “Lobbyster,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Lobbyster. “You” refers to the person whose information we process.

03

Information we collect

We apply data minimization and collect only what is necessary for clear, specific, and lawful purposes:

  • Information you give us. When you join the network or waitlist, we collect your name and at least one way to contact you — your email address, your phone number, or both. If you contact us directly, we keep the contents of that message.
  • App information. If you use the Lobbyster app, we may collect account details, bookings, and preferences you choose to share with us.
  • Usage and device data. Like most websites, we automatically receive technical information such as your browser type, device, approximate location, pages viewed, and referring links. This helps us understand how the site is used and keep it running.
  • Operational records. We may keep records of consent, requests, support interactions, and security events to demonstrate compliance with legal obligations.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal data unless there is a lawful basis and additional protections required by applicable law.

04

Lawful basis for processing

We process personal data only when a legal basis applies, including:

  • Your explicit consent;
  • Performance of a contract or pre-contractual steps at your request;
  • Compliance with legal or regulatory obligations;
  • Legitimate interests, where permitted by law, and where your rights and freedoms are not overridden.

Where consent is the legal basis, you may withdraw it at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

05

How we use your information

We use the information above to:

  • Add you to the waitlist and reach out about membership;
  • Send you relevant updates, early-member offers, and event invitations;
  • Operate, secure, and improve our website and app;
  • Respond to your questions and provide support;
  • Manage bookings, memberships, payments, and access controls;
  • Detect, prevent, and investigate misuse or security incidents;
  • Comply with our legal obligations.

We do not use your personal data for purposes incompatible with the purposes listed above unless we are allowed or required by law.

06

Cookies and analytics

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences and to measure how the site performs. Analytics tools help us count visits and understand which pages are useful — always in aggregate, never to build a personal profile.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the site may not work as smoothly if you do.

07

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in these limited cases:

  • Service providers. Trusted partners who host our site, store our data, send our emails, or process bookings on our behalf — bound by contract, confidentiality obligations, and security controls to protect your personal data.
  • Legal reasons. When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Lobbyster, our members, or the public.
  • Business transfers. If Lobbyster is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

We require processors and recipients to process personal data only for specified purposes and with safeguards consistent with applicable law.

08

Data retention

We keep personal data only for the period necessary for the stated purpose, then securely delete or anonymize it unless a longer period is required by law.

We periodically review retention periods and maintain retention records where required.

09

How we protect your information

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect personal data against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, destruction, or loss.

These measures include access controls, role-based permissions, encryption where appropriate, secure backups, and incident response procedures. No method of transmission or storage is fully risk-free, but we continuously improve our safeguards.

10

Your rights and choices

Subject to applicable law, you may exercise the following rights:

  • Know whether we process your personal data and access a copy;
  • Request correction, completion, updating, or deletion;
  • Request restriction or objection to processing in certain cases;
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
  • Object to decisions based solely on automated processing where applicable;
  • Unsubscribe from our emails using the link in any message, or by contacting us.

To make any of these requests, email us at privacy@lobbyster.app. We may need to verify your identity before we act on a request.

You also have the right to submit a complaint to the competent Egyptian data protection authority if you believe your rights have been violated.

11

Children's privacy

Lobbyster is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 18 without lawful authorization from a parent or legal guardian. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data without valid authorization, contact us and we will take prompt action.

12

Where your information is stored

We are based in Alexandria, Egypt, and some service providers may process personal data outside Egypt.

When cross-border transfers take place, we apply legal safeguards and contractual protections required under applicable Egyptian data protection rules.

13

Data incidents and notifications

If a personal data breach occurs, we assess the risk and take corrective action. Where required by law, we notify competent authorities and affected individuals within the timeframes and procedures set by applicable regulations.

14

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. If the changes are significant, we will do our best to let you know directly.
